Joe Willie Sousa: Frank Inman Field

It's time to do the right thing. In fact, it's way past time to do the right thing! This community is way past due in honoring Coach Frank Inman. What are we waiting on? Coach Inman certainly isn't getting younger! Let's do the right thing for a man who has always done the right thing for our children. Coach has devoted his life to promoting athletics and getting young people involved. He was the driving force for getting our beautiful stadium built. Take a look at Glynn County Stadium. It is without a doubt one of the finest facilities in the country for school athletics. There are a lot of small colleges that would love to have a stadium as nice as ours. You can thank Frank's vision for what we have at Glynn County Stadium. The Golden Isles Bowl that has raised money for middle school athletics was also something that Coach Inman rallied the community around. Let's do the right thing right now. I know that we can't rename Glynn County Stadium, but we can name the field for the man who's had the most impact on youth athletics in our community than anyone else. Let's rename it Frank Inman Field at Glynn County Stadium. I know what the naysayers will say: "If we do that we'll be opening up a can of worms. Everyone will have someone that they want to honor." I say bring it on! No one will even come close to Coach Inman's legacy. Let's give the man the honor he deserves while he's still with us. Coach isn't getting any younger! Now is the time to do it! Even if it's not official, from now on I will always refer to our stadium as Frank Inman Field at Glynn County stadium.
